Help Using the Catalog and Shopping Cart Introduction We have now implemented a new shopping cart system. Unlike the old system, we now calculate shipping costs online. Please note that after you submit an order, your card will not be charged until we actually send the goods (normally within 2 days of receiving the order. The new system uses a Wishlist. The Wishlist feature is similar to a shopping cart in that it allows you to add items and remove items. However, it also allows you to add items which are out of stock (not yet released, or sold out). And, if you choose to create a login to the site, the system will remember your wishlist the next time you come back (as well as your settings for the catalog, and the other details you register with us). If you don;t create a login you can still use the site and place an order, but your wishlist and other details will not be stored. To add or remove items to your wishlist simply click "Add" or "Remove" next to the item description. To place an order, simply click "Place Order". By default all the items in your wishlist will be included in your order and you can change the quantities or remove items from the order as you please. We use a secure server using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which guarantees your security when entering/viewing sensitive information such as credit card data. The catalog is an interactive, database driven system that allows you to search for and browse all the items in our catalog, both music items and non-music items. Finding New Release Information Simply enter the catalog by clicking "Catalog" on the menu from anywhere in the site. Then in the "Music - CDs, Vinyl" section (the top section) simply click on the "Music Catalog" text link. Alternatively, from the main home page, simply click the text link "View Latest Arrivals" on the left side of the page below the "Welcome to Saiko Sounds heading" The resulting screen is a summary of the recent new arrivals, the releases which are expected to arrive soon, and the current special offers. Each of these sections can be expanded by clicking on the link at the bottom of each section. By default the releases are sorted in date order. You can change this setting to show them in label order, in the "Customize Your Search" options. Simply select your choice from the "Sort New Releases By" list near the bottom of the Customize Your Search dialog box. Then click Save. Browsing by Artist and Label First, enter the catalog by clicking "Catalog" on the menu from anywhere in the site. Then in the "Music - CDs, Vinyl" section (the top section) simply click on the "Music Catalog" text link. Alternatively, from the main home page, simply click the text link "CDs and Vinyl" just a few lines below the "Welcome" text. Then simply click on either ARTIST or LABEL. In the screen that follows you can view the names artists and labels alphabetically, and by clicking on an artist name, or the small icon beside the name, which will return the discography. Using the Search Engine The Search Engine is a fully featured way to search our catalog. Using the Search Engine, you can find artists, labels, tracks by a particular artist and even tracks which have been remixed by a particular artist. Important Note: You must enter a minimum of 3 letters in order for the search
to work. How to View Further Information About a Release Simple click on the name of title name which is underlined. A new window will appear containing all information about that release which is in our database, such as the album cover graphic, the release notes, the tracklisting and links to the realaudio samples. Once you have finished with this window, you should close it. Customizing Your Search There are several ways in which you can customize your searching and browsing. Simply click on "Customize Your Search" from anywhere in the Catalog and then a dialog box will appear with various options: How to Listen to Audio Samples First, you must have a player which can play streaming audio samples in the "realaudio" format. We recommend using the free player from Real.com. You can download it from here. All the realaudio samples can be found from the tracklisting for a release (see the previous section). If realaudio samples are available, you will see a "Listen" button next to the track name. Simple click the Listen button, and your audio player will begin playing the sample. Please note that these are streaming audio samples, and they the quality of playback will depend on, amongst other things, the speed of your internet connection, and the traffic over the internet at the time. Troubleshooting We have tested the catalog and cart extensively. However, if you experience problems which cannot be resolved from the above notes, please email us with the details and we will do our best to help. And if you have any comments or suggestions for improvement, please feel free to tell us. If you prefer to submit your order without using the cart, then simply copy and paste the items you want to order from the catalog window into you email, and submit the order via our contact form. You can also ask us for a copy of the catalog as an excel fille.
