Right, well psyreviews appreciates this isn't exactly brand new box fresh EITHER (leave me alone), but it only recently came to our attention and blimey, what a corker it is as well. Nine slices of absurdly tasty dark and mental stuff that will have even the ‘ardest nuts out there pretending to nip off to get a bit of air, when they’re really heading out to change their jocks. Terminator kicks things off with Cube, a stylish intro that picks up the menace-factor with expansive sounds over an immaculately-produced backbone. Fungus Funk are present on two tunes, Geona (like being buried alive by angry wasps) and Dis (effortlessly good, the bastards). Psychotic Micro’s Vampire Legend is a proper bit of seasickness, while Parasense’s Iron Punk is just what you’d expect... iron, and punky! Freaking’s ICQ has wicked little wildlife noises all over, as it builds hilariously into a tasty kneesup. Seroxat’s delightful Mental Distorted takes it all back to Psychotic Micro again, closing the album with Fright Night: an awesome tune that just keeps on and on escalating. Lovely stuff, and if you’re wondering where the scene’s innovation has disappeared to lately: well, you can find it here. 4/5 |
